We are located in the Orlando, Florida area. Vertical Rehab is a mobile practice, so we can come to your doctor’s office or prosthetist’s office to see you. Of course, we’ll make sure we have their permission to visit! Contact us through this website for more location details.
Where can I register as a patient?
Please find the Schedule An Appointment icon at the bottom of the Patient Care Program home page. When you register yourself as a new patient, the team at Vertical Rehab will get a notice that you have signed up.
Can I schedule my own appointments?
Yes! Once you have registered as a patient with Vertical Rehab you can sign in to our electronic medical record (@PtEverywhere) and schedule your own appointments. You will find a link to the scheduler in the same place that you can register as a new patient – at the Schedule An Appointment icon at the bottom of the Patient Care Program home page.
What should I wear to my appointment?
As with most physical therapy appointments, you should wear comfortable clothing with your usual walking shoes. If you use a cane, crutches, or walker when you walk then please bring that with you. We will need access to your prosthesis, so shorts or loose-fitting pants are convenient. We may also ask you to don/doff your prosthesis, so keep that in mind.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
Wear your prosthesis, if you already have one. We want to see your metal! Since we may ask you to don/doff your prosthesis, please bring anything you may need for this process – alcohol spray, donning sleeve, hand sanitizer, hand towel, moisturizer, etc. If you have a sport or specialty prosthesis you may want to bring that, too.
Will I have to fill out paperwork?
It’s a physical therapy appointment, so yes. We want to get to know you, so we will ask lots of questions about you to gather information. We will also have you fill out some surveys related to your mobility and function. It’s best to show up for your appointment approximately 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time to complete this part of the process.
Why should I seek physical therapy services with a cash-based provider?
Our current healthcare system provides payment for volume, not value. Healthcare providers get paid when you visit them, whether you get better or not. More visits equal more dollars. The doctors are not at fault. The therapists are not at fault. It’s just the way our system works right now.
Our goal at Vertical Rehab is to provide value. In healthcare, that means going to a provider who will help you feel better, improve your mobility, or increase your independence. If a goal is important to you, no matter what that goal may be, it has value. We hope that by customizing your treatment, Vertical Rehab provides a valuable service. We want you to experience quality therapy sessions, not more therapy sessions.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit card, and even Paypal. We will take a check if we must, but that’s so 1989.
If Vertical Rehab is cash-based, do I need to bring a prescription?
The short answer is no. If we are seeing you for a functional assessment or simple gait assessment, a prescription is not required. In these cases, we will still want to collect the name and address of your physician. That way, we can communicate with her or him about your evaluation. If we mutually decide to continue treatment for a term of longer than 30 days, then we will need a prescription from your doctor to proceed.
I have private insurance with out-of-network physical therapy benefits. Will you give me an invoice that I can submit to the insurance company for reimbursement?
Absolutely. We will provide an invoice, or superbill, each time we see you for evaluation or treatment. Be aware that the insurance company will not necessarily reimburse you for the full amount you paid to us.
I have Medicare as my insurance. Can I submit an invoice to them for reimbursement?
Unfortunately, no. As a patient of Vertical Rehabilitation Services, you are not entitled to be reimbursed by Medicare. We will still be happy to see you as a client.
